What to Watch Next

Start with how much time you have. The genre can wait.

Most advice on what to watch next starts with taste. Taste is the easy part. The question that actually decides a good evening is how long you are signing up for. A two-hour film and a seventy-hour series are both “something to watch”, and only one of them is still going in March.

So the picks below are sorted by size. Every one has a page with more on it: what it is, what critics and audiences made of it, and where it streams in other countries.

One evening: a film

Two hours or less, start to credits. No commitment beyond tonight.

One weekend: a short series

Ten hours or less in total. Finished by Sunday night, with time left for Sunday.

A month: a series with a few seasons

Eleven to thirty hours. Long enough to settle in, short enough to fit one subscription month.

All autumn: the long ones

Over thirty hours. These are the shows that make a subscription earn its keep.

The arrow points at the closest match we have a page for. Similar, not identical. That is the point.

The part where it costs money

Look at the services above. Picking one show from each list can mean four subscriptions. You don’t need four at once. Watch the film on what you already pay for, then give each series the month it needs and cancel on the way out. The rotation guide explains how, and the cost calculator shows what it saves.
