Why Stream Animation Movies?
Streaming has expanded animated film audiences dramatically. Disney+ made the Pixar and Disney library permanently accessible, while Netflix and other platforms invest in original animated features that might never have received theatrical distribution. International animated films — particularly from Japan's Studio Ghibli and other Asian studios — now reach global audiences through streaming. The result is a richer, more diverse animated film landscape than theatrical distribution alone could ever provide.
How to Pick Your Next Animation Film
For animated movies, cast a wide net. If you only watch Pixar and Disney, you're missing extraordinary films from studios like Laika, Cartoon Saloon, and Studio Ghibli. Anime films often feature breathtaking animation and complex narratives that rival the best live-action cinema. Don't use "animated" as a filter when searching — instead, search by theme or mood, and let animation find you. Many of the highest-rated films on streaming are animated, regardless of target audience.
