Netflix reports that 76 million households watched the show as of 31 January 2021, making it the second-most-successful debut for an original Netflix title behind Bridgerton. It ranked number one in France and many other European countries, as well as Canada, Brazil, Argentina, and South Africa. By the first quarter of 2021, it was the most watched title on the service.

Omar Sy moved from The Intouchables and Jurassic World to The Killer and Jurassic World Dominion. The credits do not claim Lupin caused the dinosaur sequel. They simply record what followed.
