Critics found the first season solid. Rotten Tomatoes reports a 78% approval rating, averaging 6.9 out of 10 across 115 reviews. Metacritic sits at 70, signaling generally favorable reception. The A.V. Club’s Cindy White called it "a nerdy science-fiction show, with a healthy emphasis on the science." USA Today’s Kelly Lawler noted it made "a solid bit of hard sci-fi that is (mostly) accessible." Not everyone agreed. IndieWire’s Ben Travers called it "a sprawling drag," criticizing the inconsistent CGI.
How it did with audiences
