What kind of watch this is
The Summer I Turned Pretty is a drama that takes the familiar beach house ritual and cracks it open. When Belly turns sixteen, the routine breaks. The Fishers stop being just the neighbors she grew up with and become the source of a specific kind of pain. It is 20 hours of watching a friendship curdle and a love triangle form, all set against a backdrop of salt air and old family secrets. The tone is less about the sun and more about the heat of a secret you cannot keep. It is the kind of story that sticks with you because everyone in it is lying a little.
How it did with audiences
Amazon reported that the third and final season pulled in 25 million viewers globally within its first week. By day 70, that number climbed to 70 million, a 65% jump over the previous season’s total. It became the streamer’s most-watched title and hit No. 1 in more than 140 countries. On TMDB, users rate it 8.1 out of 10. Viewers clearly did the math on beach houses and heartbreak.
