Todd Phillips directs the third and final chapter of the Wolfpack’s road trips. It runs 100 minutes. The premise drops the bachelor party and the wedding, leaving the trio to hit the road with nothing specific to celebrate. The tagline promises it all ends. That is a dry way to say the franchise is closing its ledger.
What the critics said
The reception was not subtle. Rotten Tomatoes lists a 21% Tomatometer score as of October 2024, based on 202 reviews. Metacritic places it at 30 out of 100 as of October 2025, a category that typically signals generally unfavorable reception. The consensus leans dark. Andrew Barker of Variety noted the film "thrusts its long-suffering protagonists into a rote chase narrative." He questioned if it was even a comedy, seeing instead a "loopily plotted, exposition-heavy actioner." Not everyone agreed. Christy Lemire of the Associated Press called the darker tone a bold artistic risk, suggesting it dares to alienate the audience that made the first film a hit.
How it did with audiences
It made $362 million worldwide, enough to clear its $103 million budget with room for a modest drink. That is a solid return, though not the blockbuster surge of its predecessor. On TMDB, users rate it 6.2 out of 10. IMDb gives it a 5.9/10 as of March 2026. Audiences showed up, but they did not rave. The math works out, even if the enthusiasm did not.

Bradley Cooper moved from Silver Linings Playbook to American Sniper and A Star Is Born. Ed Helms went from the hangover to Vacation and Tag. Zach Galifianakis stepped into Birdman and later Only Murders in the Building. Justin Bartha drifted toward The Good Fight and Sweet Girl. The group scattered.
