He did note it lacked the "shocking impact of Airplane!." Joe Leydon of Variety argued the film is "practically guaranteed to make you laugh until you're ashamed of yourself." It is a funny movie, provided you can ignore the things that make you flinch.

Regina Hall arrived from Ally McBeal, then vanished into a decade of sequels and supporting roles. The Wayans brothers, fresh from hood comedies, spent the 2000s swapping franchises like trading cards. One went to G.I. Joe, the other to White Chicks. The credits list what happened, not why.
