What kind of watch this is
Created by Ian Brennan, this 2026 drama mines the famous ax murders for something darker than true crime. It traps Lizzie inside a suffocating Victorian household, where the violence feels less like a crime spree and more like a desperate, bloody escape from domestic rot. With 8 episodes running about 49 minutes each, the whole season takes roughly 7 hours to finish. It is not a gory spectacle for shock value. It is a slow, suffocating look at a woman who snaps. The ax is just the final, ugly punctuation mark on a life that was already over.
How it did with audiences
TMDB users give it a 7 out of 10. That is a solid score, though not a glowing one. Without box office data to measure its financial reach, the rating stands as the primary indicator of how audiences received the story.
