Critics found the sequel harder to swallow than the original. Rotten Tomatoes gives it a 48% approval rating, while Metacritic scores it 43 out of 100. The consensus leans on the word "mixed," which feels like a polite way of saying "divided." Some praised the adrenaline; others blamed the script. Stephen Kelly of Total Film called the action gripping but the script so-so. Walter Addiego of the San Francisco Chronicle noted the movie falls short despite its pace. It runs fast, but it doesn't always know where it is going.
