Family Guy (1999)
Don't die laughing. We could get sued.
Sick, twisted, politically incorrect and Freakin' Sweet animated series featuring the adventures of the dysfunctional Griffin family. Bumbling Peter and long-suffering Lois have three kids. Stewie (a brilliant but sadistic baby bent on killing his mother and taking over the world), Meg (the oldest, and is the most unpopular girl in town) and Chris (the middle kid, he's not very bright but has a passion for movies). The final member of the family is Brian - a talking dog and much more than a pet, he keeps Stewie in check whilst sipping Martinis and sorting through his own life issues.

What kind of watch this is
Family Guy is an animated comedy that treats the suburban sitcom as a vehicle for shock humor and pop-culture cutaways. Created by Seth MacFarlane, it centers on the Griffin family, where Peter’s bumbling chaos, Stewie’s megalomania, and Brian’s existential crises collide in 23-minute episodes. The tone is deliberately abrasive, relying on rapid-fire references and cringe-inducing gags to keep the dysfunction fresh. With 24 seasons totaling 456 episodes, the series demands roughly 175 hours of your life. It is a commitment that prioritizes the punchline over the plot, which is precisely the point.
What the critics said
Critics generally liked what they saw, though they had opinions about the flavor. Caryn James of The New York Times spotted an "outrageously satirical family" packed with "comic possibilities." Frazier Moore of The Seattle Times found it "rude, crude and deliciously wrong," yet "breathtakingly smart." He saw a blend of the ingenious and the raw that explains its broad appeal. He described it as an "endless craving for humor about bodily emissions.
