What kind of watch this is
Ballerina is a 2025 action thriller directed by Len Wiseman. It runs 125 minutes and tells the story of Eve Macarro as she begins her training in the assassin traditions of the Ruska Roma. The events take place during the same time as John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum. Ana de Armas plays Eve, while Keanu Reeves returns as John Wick and Ian McShane appears as Winston.
What the critics said
Critics were split, though the split leaned positive. Rotten Tomatoes reports a 75% Tomatometer score as of January 2026. Metacritic assigns a 59, a number that signals mixed or average reception. The gap suggests the film divides opinion. Alison Willmore of Vulture called it "absurd, and thrilling, and gorgeous." Justin Clark of Slant Magazine was less kind, dismissing it as "just another 87Eleven joint.
How it did with audiences
Ballerina cost $90 million and earned $140.2 million worldwide. That is a solid return, provided you count the international numbers. In the United States and Canada, it grossed $58.1 million. Its opening weekend brought in $24.5 million, slightly below projections. It finished second behind Lilo & Stitch. The second weekend saw earnings drop 62%, pushing it to fifth place. TMDB users give it a 7.3 score. For a spy thriller with a ballerina protagonist, the math works out.
