What kind of watch this is
Youth is a 2026 comedy-drama created by Sharon Horgan. It runs 8 episodes, totaling about 4 hours of watch time. The series balances the search for romance against the messy reality of caring for ailing parents and a son who has not quite left the nest. The tagline, "Not wasted yet," sets the tone perfectly.
What the critics said
Critics agree. Rotten Tomatoes reports 97% positive reviews from 29 critics, averaging 8.1 out of 10. The consensus calls it a film that "brazenly sheds a comedic light on the plight of aging." Metacritic lands at 82 out of 100 based on 14 critics, a score it labels universal acclaim. Sharon Horgan’s wit gets the credit, along with some empathy. It is rare for a movie about getting old to make the audience laugh instead of wince.
How it did with audiences
The 7.5 TMDB user score suggests a steady following rather than a viral moment. Without box office figures to measure the noise, the metric stands alone. It is the kind of rating that implies people watched it twice, once to see if they liked it and once to see why they did.
