X-Men '97 (2024)

What kind of watch this is

X-Men '97 picks up the story where the 1990s cartoon left off, but it does not pretend to be a nostalgic relic. It is a 34-minute-per-episode animated action drama that treats its sci-fi premises with a surprising amount of weight. The hook is simple: Professor X is gone, and Magneto is in charge. That shift changes the team’s dynamic entirely. You are looking at 11 hours of total runtime across 2 seasons and 19 episodes. It is a long ride, but the pacing keeps it tight. The show balances big action set pieces with the kind of interpersonal drama that makes superhero stories feel human. It is for people who want the lore respected, not just recycled.
