The X-Men are an elite team of mutants, genetically gifted human beings with superpowers, sworn to fight for mutant rights against hostile Government agencies, whilst at the same time protecting mankind from mutant supremacist Magneto who seeks to destroy the human race in return for the atrocities committed against mutant kind.

It is less about the spectacle of the powers and more about the moral arithmetic of being the target of two different kinds of hatred.
How it did with audiences
As a Saturday morning cartoon, X-Men pulled in over 23 million households during its peak. That was big enough for Haim Saban to credit the series with helping him sell his next project to Fox, Mighty Morphin Power Rangers. On TMDB, users rate it 8.2 out of 10. Critics praised how it adapted many different storylines from the comics.
