What kind of watch this is
Warrior Nun is a 2020 action fantasy that merges convent life with supernatural combat. It runs 13 hours over 2 seasons, a commitment that tests your patience for theological bureaucracy. The hook is simple: a teenager wakes up dead, gets a halo, and starts punching demons. It leans into the absurdity of its premise, treating holy orders like a high school clique with better weapons.
What the critics said
Rotten Tomatoes splits the difference. Season 1 sits at 68% from 34 reviews, averaging 6.5 out of 10. The consensus notes the heavy setup, though committed acting and fight choreography might save it for pulp fans. Season 2, reviewed by 11 critics, hits 100%. Metacritic lands on 62 out of 100, indicating generally favorable reviews.
Roxana Hadadi of The A.V. Club called it "its own distinct experience." Nicole Drum of ComicBook.com found it "one hell of a fun ride." Not everyone agreed. Robyn Bahr of The Hollywood Reporter called the aesthetic "nothing you ever want to see again." The pacing drew fire, but the action stuck.
How it did with audiences
The budget line is empty, and so is the box office. There is no money to count, only the judgment of the people who pressed play. On TMDB, users rate it 7.9 out of 10. The audience verdict stands on its own, unburdened by studio accounting.
