Awards
Top Gun: Maverick pulled 5 wins from 18 nominations. It took the Saturn Award for Best Actor for Tom Cruise and the one for Best Editing for Eddie Hamilton. The 95th Academy Awards gave it Best Sound to Al Nelson, alongside nods for Best Picture and other categories. AFI named it their Movie of the Year for 2022. That is a respectable haul for a sequel about jet planes.
