What kind of watch this is
The Weight is a 2026 drama-thriller directed by Padraic McKinley. It runs 112 minutes, a duration that feels appropriate for a story where every minute costs something. Ethan Hawke plays Samuel, a man stripped of his daughter and handed a deal by Warden Clancy, played by Russell Crowe. The offer is straightforward: smuggle gold from a remote mine with a dangerous crew, and you walk free. Julia Jones rounds out the cast. The tension comes from the crew, not the mine. It is a tight, high-stakes gamble where the prize is a person, not a sum of money.
What the critics said
