What kind of watch this is
Steven Spielberg directs this 107-minute adventure. It pairs a young reporter with a dog, a captain, and two detectives. The hook is a sunken ship that holds both a fortune and a curse. Daniel Craig plays the villain, who is also a pirate, which is a neat bit of casting. The tone is brisk, chasing the plot half the world with no time for long pauses. It runs tight because everyone is running.
How it did with audiences
It cost $140 million and took in $374 million worldwide. That margin is thin enough to worry a CFO and thick enough to satisfy an accountant. On TMDB, users rate it 6.9 out of 10. IMDb gives it a 7.3/10 weighted average as of February 2026. The audience did the math, found it acceptable, and moved on.
