What kind of watch this is
Leah Nelson’s 2027 animated drama runs 102 minutes, a length that feels precise for a story about memory dissolving. It is not a gentle look at dementia. The humor here is sharp because the pain is real. Julia Louis-Dreyfus plays the mother, Midge, whose vibrant self is being eaten alive by the disease. Abbi Jacobson is Sarah, the daughter who fled this conservative small town and now has to come back. Bryan Cranston rounds out the family unit. The animation allows the film to visualize the chaos in Midge’s mind without softening the cruelty of the loss. It is a film about the specific, brutal work of becoming the person your family needs when the people you loved are no longer quite there.
