The first season started at 86% on Rotten Tomatoes. By the finale, that figure climbed to 97%, with Metacritic citing universal acclaim. Patrick Stewart anchors the run, the consensus notes, though the pacing slows. It’s a steady climb toward a strong finish.
How it did with audiences
TMDB users rate it 7.2 out of 10. There is no box office figure, so the real measure is attention. A week after its premiere, CBS reported that Picard set a new record for total streams by subscribers, logging 115 percent more than the previous holder, Star Trek: Discovery. The launch also helped January 2020 break the service's record for the most new subscribers in a month. That specific week was the second-most for new sign-ups. The math favors the old guard.
What came next for the cast
Patrick Stewart traded Wolverine for the Multiverse. Michelle Hurd moved from procedural drama to rom-coms and workplace romances. Alison Pill stepped out of the indie-action lane into horror and anthology TV. The credits do not claim Picard caused these turns. They merely record what happened next, leaving the causality for the audience to decide.
