Gareth Edwards took the most polished franchise in cinema and ground it down to rust, dust, and blood. At 133 minutes, Rogue One is a war movie that happens to have spaceships. It cost $200 million and grossed $1.1 billion worldwide, with $532 million coming from the United States. Rogue One picked up 6 awards from 8 nominations. The Empire Awards handed Best Film, Best Actress to Felicity Jones, and Best Director to Gareth Edwards.
