Monsters University (2013)

What kind of watch this is

Dan Scanlon directed this 2013 animated prequel, which runs 104 minutes. It pairs Billy Crystal and John Goodman in a story where the famous duo is not actually famous, just two students trying to survive a semester. The tagline notes that before they were incorporated, they had to be educated. That is the core of the film: a comedy about rivalry that slowly becomes a friendship, told through the lens of university bureaucracy. It is less about scary monsters and more about the awkward transition from strangers to partners. The humor relies on the contrast between their big personalities and the small, petty conflicts of student life.
