Rotten Tomatoes gave Season 1 a 20% approval rating based on 86 reviews. The consensus noted a lack of momentum and originality. Metacritic scored it 37 out of 100, indicating generally unfavorable reviews. Critics did not kindle a fire.
Season 2 fared better, hitting a 55% approval rating from 48 reviews. The consensus found tighter pacing and better action scenes, though it remained a lesser light among MCU shows. Metacritic nudged up to 39 out of 100 based on six critics. Rotten Tomatoes flagged the 33% jump as Iron Fist’s largest season-over-season increase. Improvement is still a low bar.
