What kind of watch this is
Get Jiro is an animated action series where the apocalypse didn't end civilization; it just changed the menu. In a near-future Los Angeles, food is currency and chefs are the new ruling class. Jiro, a sushi chef, spends the 10 episodes seeking vengeance in a world where a meal determines your social standing. The whole thing takes about 4 hours to watch. It is a high-stakes revenge story wrapped in a culinary economy, which sounds absurd until you realize how many people already trade their time for takeout.
How it did with audiences
On TMDB, users rate it 9.1 out of 10. That is a high number. Here, the score stands alone, unmoored from ticket sales or budget figures. It suggests the audience found something they liked enough to keep, even if the box office never gets to count it. A quiet endorsement, measured in stars rather than dollars.
