What kind of watch this is
BEEF is a 2023 dramedy where a minor conflict turns into a consuming feud. Lee Sung Jin created it to watch two people dig a trench so deep they can no longer see the sun. The comedy comes from the sheer absurdity of the escalation; the drama comes from realizing the anger was never about the car. You spend 11 hours watching pride get its comeuppance, one petty revenge at a time. It is the television equivalent of a long, loud argument that ends with both parties realizing they have been married to the same mistake for years.
How it did with audiences
Season 2 of Beef opened at number 10 on the Netflix Top 10. It pulled in 2.4 million views that week, a drop of about 58% from the opening of season one. On TMDB, users rate it 7.8 out of 10. The audience didn't vanish, exactly. They just decided to watch something else first.
What came next for the cast
Steven Yeun moved from The Walking Dead and Nope to Mickey 17 and The Rip. Joseph Lee stepped out of Searching and Star Trek: Picard. The credits list these shifts in neat rows. They cannot prove BEEF caused the pivot. They just show where the next credit landed.
