Not every critic bought the single-take format. Anita Singh of The Telegraph found the technique "like a gimmick," even while praising the acting as "phenomenal.

On TMDB, users rate it 7.8 out of 10. It also hit a milestone: the first streaming series to top the Barb Audiences weekly television ratings. In the United States, it ranked first on Netflix during the week of 17–23 March 2025. Numbers that usually take years to chase, achieved in a single week.
