What kind of watch this is
72 HOURS is a 2026 comedy crime hybrid directed by Tim Story. It runs 105 minutes, a duration that feels appropriately long for the chaos it contains. Kevin Hart plays Joe, a 40-year-old ad executive who accidentally gets dragged into a Miami bachelor party with a crew of twentysomethings. The premise leans on the age gap, with the tagline "The night is young. He isn't" doing the heavy lifting. It is a film about a man trying to save his career by pretending he fits in with people who have not yet learned the meaning of a quiet evening.
What the critics said
Rotten Tomatoes sits at 18% after 39 reviews, with an average score of 4.1 out of 10. Metacritic, using a weighted average of 15 critics, assigns it 41, labeling the reception mixed or average. Todd Gilchrist of Variety called it a mediocre Hangover knockoff that never delivers enough good times. Robert Daniels of RogerEbert.com gave it 2.5 stars, finding charm in the dated references despite the plot mechanics.
How it did with audiences
TMDB users give it a 6.8 out of 10. That sits squarely in the "it was okay, I guess" range. No box office figures exist to confirm whether anyone actually watched it. The silence is deafening, but the score is at least a number.
